Driving Instructor Training

There are no hefty startup costs with Rio Driving School.

Pay as you go from £40 per hour.

We can train you through all stages of your driving instructor development.

Part 1 Instructor Training

• FREE

Part 2 Instructor Training

• Training is £50 per hour, 1:1 in-car, pay as you go.

Part 3 Instructor Training

• Training is £50 per hour, 1:1 in-car, pay as you go.
• You’ll need 40 hours of training logged for the DVSA.
• £200 sponsorship fee. If you join Rio on a 12-month contract this can go toward your first x4 weeks franchise!

Part 3 options after you have completed your 40 hours of training:

• Teach for free on your own.
  • Please note: until you are fully qualified you cannot advertise or charge for teaching people to drive. You must pass the Part 3 exam at the DVSA to become fully qualified.

• Join Rio Driving School (12 month contract @ £50/week).
  • You will be able to get your PDI licence (pink badge) and teach and get paid full ADI rates.
  • Unlimited pupils for your diary; no extra fees.
  • Get full support from all the instructors on our private groups.
  • Additional 1:1 training costs £50/hr. *see DVSA requirements

DVSA Requirements:

If taking the sponsorship route, to become a driving instructor in the UK and pass ADI Part 3, you’ll need to complete 20 hours of additional training, as part of the training program, after obtaining your trainee driving instructor licence. This training should be completed within the first three months of having the licence or before booking your first ADI Part 3 test. A minimum of 25% of this training should be practical in-car training, and it must be recorded on the Instructor Training Declaration form.
